Dear HP families,

As we approach the midpoint of the summer term, I am pleased to share some highlights from the past week at HP.

Firstly, I want to commend our Year 11 and 13 students who are working incredibly hard during this crucial exam season. Their dedication and resilience are truly commendable, and we are very proud of their efforts. I also want to acknowledge the exceptional support from our staff, who have been providing not only extra lessons, but also lots of pastoral care, through our carefully planned exam timetable to ensure our students are well-prepared and supported during this time.

Today, our Scholars Club had a very successful trip to Gloucester Crown Court. This visit provided our students with a unique opportunity to observe the legal system in action, enhancing their understanding of the judiciary and sparking further interest in their studies. The students returned with a newfound understanding and appreciation for the complexities of the legal process.

Today’s House ‘Welly Wanging’ Competition was a tremendous success. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff participating with lots of enthusiasm. Events like these not only provide a fun break from their hard work in lessons but also foster an even stronger sense of community and camaraderie amongst our students. Today’s results were as follows:

The countdown is now on to see which House will emerge as the overall winner by the end of the academic year.

Looking ahead, we are preparing for a very busy and exciting second half of the summer term. The remainder of the exam season will be a primary focus, and we will continue to support our students every step of the way. Additionally, we are eagerly anticipating our inaugural Activities Week, which promises to be a highlight of the term. This week will offer a diverse range of activities designed to engage and inspire our students, providing them with enriching experiences beyond the classroom.
