Year 7 Trip
Update : new deadline for payment is Friday 31st january 2020
December 2019
Dear Parent/Carer
On 26 February 2020, we will be taking Year 7 to the British Museum in London. In Term 3, students will begin to study a unit entitled Journeys. As part of this unit, students will explore Homer’s Iliad and the story of Troy. For a limited time, there is a Troy Exhibition at the museum and we would like our students to experience it, in order to enhance their knowledge. Whilst there, students will also have the opportunity to visit the Chinese and Egyptian galleries. This is an experience which will be shared with all Year 7 cohorts across the Greenshaw schools in the South West.
There are 185 spaces available and these will be filled on a first come first served basis. The cost of the trip will be £13.50. We plan to leave Holmleigh Park High at 6:30am prompt and will return to school at approximately 6.00pm subject to traffic. All students will need to ensure that they bring a packed lunch and drinks for the day which are not fizzy. If you require a free school meal, please email Claire Barry c.barry@hphigh.co.uk with any dietary requirements.
A parent or carer will need to collect all students on our return to HP High. Students can also bring a small amount of money, if they wish, to buy a souvenir. This will be students’ own responsibility.
Students must wear full uniform and must also bring a reading book with them.
The deadline to join this trip will be Friday 31st January 2020. Please make payment via your on line Parent Pay accounts. If you do not have a Parent Pay account, please contact h.hutchinson@hphigh.co.uk and she can arrange an activation code for you.
We look forward to spending this time with students and developing their knowledge.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on j.harris@hphigh.co.uk
