Year 7 - Viney Hill Trip

Dear Parent/Carer
I am delighted to be able to confirm the arrangements for the upcoming Year 7 bonding trip to Viney Hill in the Forest of Dean.
Students will visit in one of two groups depending on their teaching sets. We want students who will be taught together to spend time outside of their classroom developing friendships.
Your child will be going on either Monday 7th to Tuesday 8th October 2019 or Tuesday 8th to Wednesday 9th Oct. Students will leave at break time on the and return for the end of the school day. On arrival to school your child will need to attend line-up and periods one and two in the clothes that they will wear to Viney Hill. All luggage items will be stored safely in the sport hall after line-up has taken place.
Whilst at Viney Hill, students will be taking part in the following activities –
Archery, Biking, Bridge Building, Raft Building, Caving, Canoeing, Climbing Low Ropes and Navigation skills. The focus throughout these activities will be on how well students work together and interact.
Your child will be camping in tents and will need a sleeping bag and pillow. Please refer to the enclosed equipment list as to the required items needed for the various activities and overnight stay. In addition to this a packed lunch and non fizzy drink will be required for the first day, then all other meals will be catered for.
As detailed in the letter before we broke up in the summer, this trip has been heavily subsidised by The Greenshaw Learning Trust.
The cost to parents will be £55.00. We would like all Year 7 students to attend this overnight stay, if for any reason you are in a period of financial hardship and would like to discuss the cost of the trip, please contact Helen Hutchinson in Student Finance on h.hutchinson@hphigh.co.ukin confidence.
The payment schedule for this trip can be made in two instalments as follows – payment will need to be made on line via Parent Pay.

Friday 4thOctober £25.00
You will receive by post a copy of this letter, the kit list and medical form will need to be completed and returned to Mrs Hutchinson as this is required by Viney Hill. This letter will also inform you of the date your child will be going.
In order to answer any question you may have, to meet staff and finalise arrangements there will be a parent/carers meeting on Monday 23rdSeptember at 6.00pm in the main hall.
