Letter from the Head – Friday 29th November 2024
In this issue: Updates to our website calendar, details of Christmas events including lunches and celebrations, Sixth Form taster lessons and applications, and our focus on attendance.
Dear HP families,
As we near the festive season, I’m pleased to share a summary of an exciting and productive week here at Holmleigh Park.
Firstly, I encourage all parents and carers to visit our updated website calendar, now accessible from both the home page and directly at https://www.hphigh.co.uk/school-calendar. This includes all our upcoming events and important dates, so please take a moment to familiarise yourselves with it.
Amongst these events, I’m delighted to announce the return of our Christmas celebrations, which include Christmas lunches, discos, and HP Hero Club rewards. We will also hold special assemblies to recognise the outstanding achievements of our students this term. A reminder that on the final day of term, we will finish at 1:05 pm. Please refer to the website calendar for all dates and times.
For the Christmas lunches, which will take place as part of whole-year group parties, we are asking all students who wish to join to sign up by Friday 6th December using this Google Form. The cost is the same as a normal meal, with the school subsidising the additional costs to ensure as many students as possible can enjoy this festive event. On these days, only sandwiches and snacks will be available for those not attending the lunches.
This week, we also hosted Sixth Form taster lessons and welcomed visits from Severn Vale students. Sixth Form applications are now open, and we are looking to forward to receiving them all as we start our planning for the next academic year.
Attendance remains a top priority this year, as regular attendance is crucial for both academic success and well-being. Our target is 95% or higher, and we’re thrilled to see many students already meeting or exceeding this benchmark. HP Hero Club rewards are planned throughout the year to recognise excellent attendance. Please keep an eye on your child’s attendance using MCAS, and if you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to contact their Head of Year for support.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. I look forward to sharing more updates as we head into the final weeks of term.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Mr Hudson
Headteacher
